Born-again five-year-old Let It Rip Reggie continued his good run of form, sprinting clear to win a benchmark-58 contest over 1850-metres at Stawell on Saturday. Jockey Jack Hill rode a confident race, sending his mount forward to settle outside the lead from a wide gate. Hill piled the pressure on race leader Bellator approaching the 400-metre mark and took over on the bend, opening up a race-winning lead and holding a two-length margin on the line. Saturday’s victory was the gelding’s fourth from twenty-one starts, and made it two wins from his last three starts following a similar performance at Swan Hill a month earlier. The son of Ocean Park is racing well in this company and has every chance to notch another win or two before his rating dictates a change in grade.
