Henry Dwyer Racing – Wednesday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has three runners today at Sandown in HEAVENLY BRIDGES, MISTER MOGUL and COPPER FOX.

The track is rated a Good 4 and the rail is out in the 10m position, having been out 6m on August 26. Sandown Hillisde is one of the best tracks in the country with a lovely, long 490m home straight that generally gives every horse their chance. With the rail out in then 10m spot, it wouldn’t surprise to see them use plenty of the track in the straight.

No.7 HEAVENLY BRIDGES – Alana Kelly a(3) (Barrier 5)

HEAVENLY BRIDGES heads to Sandown today where she will resume in a 1000m Fillies and Mares BM70. She has drawn gate five and Alana Kelly will ride.

HEAVENLY BRIDGES resumes in a hot BM70 here. Her recent jump-out on the synthetic at Geelong was sharp and suggested she has come back as well as ever. She’s a solid 1000m horse who will get a lovely run up on speed from gate five and if she can produce her best, she can figure somewhere in the finish.

This is a good starting point for her and she will derive plenty of benefit out of today’s run.

No.1 MISTER MOGUL – Will Price a(3) (Barrier 7)

MISTER MOGUL also heads to Sandown today where he will tackle a 1000m BM78. He has drawn gate seven and Will Price will ride.

The wide draw is ideal for MISTER MOGUL over the 1000m course at Sandown. With just a slight bend out of the chute, being off the fence is an advantage, and that will likely be accentuated with the rail out 10m. He was up on speed in a pretty fast run 1000m race at Caulfield last start, ultimately finishing fifth behind one of the key rivals he meets again on Wednesday in PROPELLE. He showed real fight when headed last time and getting back onto drier ground is no disadvantage.

He’s as sound as he has ever been and he’s in good order, he will be ridden quietly today (so different to normal pattern) to finish off strongly and hopefully he will be fighting out the finish.

No.3 COPPER FOX – Will Price a(3) (Barrier 7)

COPPER FOX is our third runner at Sandown where he will tackle a 1400m BM70. He has drawn gate sevenand Will Price will ride.

COPPER FOX has the blinkers going on and importantly gets back onto firmer footing, which seems to be the key to this horse. Yes, he can handle the edge off the track, but when it gets into the heavy range he doesn’t seem to let down. His win two back at Ballarat rated very well and despite the fact he arguably wasn’t comfortable in the conditions, he battled on OK here at Sandown on the Lakeside last time out. This race has more depth than the BM70 he tackled last start but the Hillside course is more to his liking.

Will’s claim helps his chances today and he will settle where he is comfortable and will be strong late. He might just find one or two stronger than him today.
