Henry Dwyer Racing – Wednesday preview

Mornington

Race 2 – Alors Tu Crois

Jockey – Jye McNeil

2000m – Barrier 3

Four-year-old mare Alors Tu Crois gets out to 2000-metres today having impressed at both starts this preparation. The daughter of So You Think was a first-up winner at 1450-metres two starts back before a solid on-pace run at Stawell last start when out to 1850-metres. Jockey Jye McNeil has drawn ideally in gate three and has to option to press forward and lead or take a sit behind a couple that will cross from higher draws. Flash Mary will be handy from barrier four while race favourite Lady Court will jumps quickly from the outside gate in a field of eight. This runner bolted in at Sandown last start in lesser grade after enjoying a sweet run outside the speed. If Egan can get across cheaply and find a similar position in the run she will be hard to gun down late. Mystery Moment and Think I’m Famous finished alongside each other when filling the placings at Pakenham last start. Mystery Moment had no luck in the home straight and arguably should have won, while Think I’m Famous looks ready for 2000-metres. Both in with a show here. Hollywood Siren had the sit on Alors Tu Crois at Stawell a fortnight ago and got past her late, finishing a length in front of her when winning the race. The Maher/Eustace mare had all the favours that day and is drawn for another nice run from a middle alley this afternoon. Alors Tu Crois is racing in great fashion this campaign, looking ready for the extra distance she gets today. She rises in grade and finds a very competitive race but with the right run she can be thereabouts at the finish. An each way play at the price.

Currently, Alors Tu Crois is a $14 chance in the market.

Race 4 – Dancethenightaway

Jockey – Jye McNeil

1600m – Barrier 1

Highland Reel filly Dancethenightaway has just her fourth race start when second-up at Mornington this afternoon. The Henry Dwyer-trained three-year-old was never a factor when resuming at Geelong, settling back and finishing midfield on that occasion. Jockey Jye McNeil leaves from the inside alley today and can settle more prominently in the run, noting her debut win was from a front-running position. Pasheona from gate two won’t be far away early on and Perfect Ending may roll across from out wide. Tough race with six of eight runners in single figures. Ferlazzo drops significantly in grade following a sound showing at Flemington last start. Her maiden win prior was okay without being electric but she does look progressive. She’s just on top in a competitive field. Perfect Ending didn’t have much luck at Bendigo a fortnight ago, going to the line with plenty to give. Where she settles in the run from the outside gate is a query but must be considered an each way chance. Pasheona and Regal Vow are both straight out of maiden grade and while both won well last start, are too short in betting for mine. Dancethenightaway may be better over more ground but will be improved from her first-up effort. With a soft run here she can finish thereabouts but there may be a couple with a better turn of foot than her. A top four hope in a competitive race.

Currently, Dancethenightaway is a $26 chance in the market.
