Henry Dwyer Racing – Wednesday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today in HELEVA DEEL running at Sandown.

Sandown – Heavy 9

The track has come up a Heavy 9 with the rail out 7m. A shower or two is forecast and if we were to get that during the meeting it would see the track quickly chop up. Racing today is on the inner Lakeside track which has a 400m home straight and a slight tendency to favour those on speed.

No.14 HELEVA DEEL – Alana Kelly a(3) (Barrier 12)

HELEVA DEEL heads to Sandown today where she will contest a 2100m BM70. She has drawn gate twelve and Alana Kelly will ride with her 3kg claim, bringing her down to 52kg.

HELEVA DEEL has been racing well throughout this campaign, including breaking her maiden three starts back on the Pakenham Synthetic. She stepped to Saturday 3YO company last time out and acquitted herself well enough after getting shuffled back on the home bend and rallying late. With more luck in running, she could have finished closer on that occasion and it was a race dominated up on speed and nearer the rail. If anything, this field has more depth despite it being a midweek race, but this filly is on the up and with luck in running she can be competitive.

She has a big weight advantage on a heavy track today, there is a slight question mark on whether she can get through the going, but if she does she is a chance to fill the placings today. She’s in good order and very fit and has the in form jockey in Alana Kelly onboard.
