ELEGIST heads to Sandown today where he will contest a 1000m Benchamrk 64. He has drawn gate ten and Will Price will ride.
The track will probably stay in the Soft 7 range today and will no doubt chop out by the time race 8 comes around so the barrier should help ELEGIST here. The two horses to beat in this race are ZIAVERA and BRAZEN BULLY and to a lesser extent FAST N’ DEEP, from our gate we will look to be midfield in the run and saving his sprint for late in the race. While it is a city race it is only a benchmark 64 and not too much stronger than what he has been running in, so all he needs to do his maintain his form of his recent runs, where he has been beaten a couple of lengths, to be competitive.
He is on the fresh side today and is in good order, he is over the odds today and while he does find it hard to win, he won’t disgrace himself and he might be one that swoops late and hopefully he can run into the money somewhere.
