Henry Dwyer Racing – Wednesday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner tonight in HEAVENLY BRIDGES at Sandown

Sandown – Good (4)

The track has come up a Good 4 and another 9.5mm of irrigation is going to be applied on race morning, which should keep plenty of juice in the track with a warm day forecast. The Hillside track at Sandown is one of the fairest in the country with a lovely, long run in and all horses should get their chance. With that irrigation being applied on race morning it wouldn’t surprise to see them getting off the fence as the meeting goes on. The 1000m start is at the top of the track and they only have a slight bend to overcome, so barriers are negligible and if anything low draws can be a disadvantage. (Form Analyst Matt Welsh)

Race 6 (6:30 pm)   Be A Mate, Nominate Handicap  1000m

No.2 HEAVENLY BRIDGES – Laura Lafferty (Barrier 5)

HEAVENLY BRIDGES (6) heads to Sandown on Wednesday where she’ll contest a 1000m BM70 (Race 6, 6.30pm). The daughter of Unencumbered has drawn gate six and Laura Lafferty will ride and claim 3kg.

HEAVENLY BRIDGES was slow out at The Valley last time out but was super strong late, getting home in the second-best last 600/400m split of the meeting. She needed another stride or two at the Yarra Valley two back in what was a race dominated by the tearaway leader. She’s up in grade here but it’s not the strongest BM70 and she’s racing well enough to be in the finish. (Form Analyst Matt Welsh)
