The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today in GAIUS running at Mornington.
Mornington – Good (4)
The track has come up a Good 4 on race morning after 10mm of irrigation was applied over the past 24 hours, bringing it to a total of 38mm for the week. I’d expect an early upgrade and come race eight racing will be on a Good 3. (Form Comments by Matt Welsh)

No.8 GAIUS – Damian Thornton (Barrier 6)
GAIUS (6) heads to Mornington on Wednesday where he will contest a 1000m BM64 (Race 8, 5.40 pm). He has drawn gate six and Damien Thornton will ride.
GAIUS should get a lovely camp just off this hot tempo, stalking the speed and looking to pounce late. He ended his last campaign as a winner at Mildura, beating two subsequent winners in What A Sham and Thunder Peak. He has had just the one jump-out when working home well down the back straight at Geelong. This is no doubt a significant step in grade on what he met last time in, but he’s on an upward spiral and gets the right run in the race.(Matt Welsh)
Stable Comments- There’s good speed in the race which should allow him to get back and be hitting the line strong. This is the ideal racing pattern as we look to place him over 1200 in the next few runs which is his preferred distance. This is not to say he won’t be hitting the line strong today in the first half of the field.
