Henry Dwyer Racing – Tuesday Preview

Kilmore

Race 7 – Salsa Fellow

Jockey – Mitch Aitken

1112m – Barrier 9

Blue Point gelding Salsa Fellow comes back in grade for this afternoon’s race at Kilmore. The three-year-old galloper was solid last start when third behind a smart one at Geelong, beating home subsequent Caulfield winner Chinqui in the process. Jockey Mitch Aitken has drawn the outside gate in a field of nine and will need luck to avoid being posted throughout, looking to roll across and settle in the front half of the field in the early stages.

Speed is okay with Gulf Of Finland and Farisha to punch forward from low draws, while expect Tochka, Babaloa and Marbilla to be prominent from towards the outside. Tochka was a strong maiden winner on debut last preparation, before blowing the start next time out and quickly finding he paddock. Recent jumpouts suggest she’s returned in good order, no surprise to see her show up fresh today. One of the main chances. Marbilla had excuses two starts back before bouncing back with a good effort up in grade at Mornington three weeks ago. Only needs to hold that form to go close here. Concede an each way chance to Babaloa, who will get every chance from the front.

Salsa Fellow brings strong form into this race through his last start placing, just needing even luck from the gate to feature in the finish. If he gets a cart across in the early stages he can prove hard to beat.

Currently, Salsa Fellow is a $3.70 chance in the market.
