Henry Dwyer Racing – Tuesday Preview

Kilmore

Race 6 – Macocha

Jockey – Tianni Chapman

1200m – Barrier

Three-year-old filly Macocha is third-up and ready to improve when she heads to Kilmore this afternoon. The daughter of Street Boss has been plain in two runs. this time in, but a recent jumpout win suggests a better showing is on the cards today. Jockey Tianni Chapman rides in an all-apprentice affair, looking to begin cleanly and settle just behind the speed in the early parts, leaving something in store for the run home.

Speed will be on from the outset with Turn Up The Night, Insignia and Been Our Angel all likely to roll forward from towards the outside, while expect Tarzi Calling and Lucky Duck to settle just behind them from low draws heading into the home bend. Tarzi Calling was a tough on-speed winner at Yarra Valley last start, headed in the home straight before kicking back and getting the prize. Third from that race has since won well. Hardest to beat. Xaphan was solid when resuming at Wangaratta three weeks ago and has had a tick-over jumpout between runs. She’s been around the mark in both second-up attempts, no surprise to see her closing late. Each way chances to Been Our Angel, who is up in trip and back in grade, and Lucky Duck, who is racing well. Could make a case for others.

Macocha gets blinkers back on for today’s race, in an attempt to spur improvement coming down in grade. She should enjoy a lovely trail throughout before being presented to run on in the home straight. Expecting a better effort today.

Currently, Macocha is a $15 chance in the market.
