The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today in HONORABLE MENTION running at Swan Hill.
Swan Hill – Good (4)
The track will come up a Good 4 on race morning but with fine weather forecast an early upgrade to a Good 3 is almost assured. It’s a lovely track with a big, long straight that generally gives all horses a chance, but it’s rarely a disadvantage to be on speed.
Race 7 (4.30pm) The Bottle O Swan Hill BM58 Handicap
No.2 HONORABLE MENTION – Michael Poy (Barrier 5)
HONORABLE MENTION heads to Swan Hill today where he will contest a 1600m BM58. He has draw gate five and Michael Poy will ride.
HONORABLE MENTION had no luck at this track over 1300m two back when dropping in grade before running well up to 1412m at Echuca last time out. He looks to be crying out for the mile and while he is unplaced in all three runs at the trip, they were all in stronger company. He is better than BM58 grade and this is as good an opportunity as he will get to bounce back to the winners’ stall.
From the barrier he will ridden conservatively and somewhere midfield to save him for a strong late burst, he will have a nice long straight to catch the leaders. Hopefully the track isn’t too hard given he didn’t really stretch out on it last time but either way he will be right there in the finish fighting it out.
