Henry Dwyer Racing – Tuesday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with HEIR TO THE THRONE at Swan Hill.

They haven’t raced at Swan Hill since November so the track should be in very good order. It’s a spacious track but despite the long straight – 475m – it often favour runners closer to the speed. The 1600m start is a little tricky being on the bottom bend and position in running early is crucial. The forecast is for a fine, warm day so expect the track to be firm come race 7.

Swan Hill – Good (4)

Race 7 (4.30pm) Pooles Accountants BM64 Handicap

No.4 HEIR TO THE THRONE – Michael Poy (Barrier 2)

HEIR TO THE THRONE heads to Swan Hill today where he will contest a 1600m BM58. He has drawn gate two and Michael Poy will ride.

HEIR TO THE THRONE has got back and worked to the line OK in both runs this preparation and this might be a shade easier than what he has been contesting. From gate two, he should get a soft run right on the back of the speed and the mile trip is his pet distance. He moved well enough in a Geelong trial between runs to suggest he is on track to peak third up today.

This race sets up well for him today, if he is capable of doing so, fitness won’t be an issue and will be riding for a little bit of luck from barrier 2. He will be conserved as much as possible in the run, hopefully getting some clear air and running home strongly from the 350 metre mark. No real excuses today why he can’t run well.
