The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today at Hamilton in EXLOVER.
Hamilton is rated a Soft 5 on race morning but there is significant rain moving through the area and we could well see a downgrade as the meeting unfolds. There are strong forecast westerly winds that could well influence how races are run and cover could become a premium.
Hamilton – Soft (5)
Race 2 (2pm) Ace Radio Party with the Ponies Maiden
No.2 EXLOVER – Michael Poy (Barrier 5)
EXLOVER heads to Hamilton today where he debuts in a 1200m Maiden. He has drawn gate five and Michael Poy will ride.
EXLOVER has had two recent jump-outs leading into this debut as well as two at Caulfield last preparation. He has show enough speed that he should be able to use gate five and get a nice run just in behind then speed. The 1200m looks suitable but he has shown a tendency to over-race a touch, so hopefully he gets it right on debut.
He is screwed down enough to win this race today over 1200m, just mentally whether he is there yet is the question, with whatever he does today he will certainly improve on. He has good ability though so a forward showing wouldn’t surprise and he should run a good race.
