Henry Dwyer Racing – Thursday Preview

Seymour

Race 4 – Turfaction

Jockey – Jye McNeil

1000m – Barrier 11

Improving galloper Turfaction gets blinkers for the first time when he comes back to 1000-metres at Seymour this afternoon. The gelded son of Turffontein has been sound in two runs this campaign, running on well from the back without much luck on both occasions. Jockey Jye McNeil hops on today, leaving from the outside gate in a field of eleven, but with a nice run to the bend to find a position from the chute start.

Speed is drawn on the inside with Redemption Time able to use gate one to hold the lead, while Rizu has shown early toe in recent jumpouts and may challenge for the top in the early parts, along with Mclovin from wider out. A few with a chance here. Redemption Time was a beaten favourite when runner-up at Burrumbeet a fortnight ago. She led but was no match for the winner in a fast-run race. If she can control the tempo today she can be in this for a long way. La Meeting was fair on debut off a wide run and comes back in trip for this. There’s been market support for him so expecting a stronger showing today. Scillato and Ilovediamonds have both shown ability at the jumpouts ahead of their respective debuts today. No surprise to see them measure up here. Mclovin next best.

Turfaction comes here third-up, with a jumpout between runs to keep him ticking over for today. He can stay out of trouble from the outside gate, and on even terms must be considered a winning chance in this field.

Currently, Turfaction is a $6.50 chance in the market.
