Henry Dwyer Racing – Thursday Preview

Caulfield Heath

Race 3 – Macocha

Jockey – Mitch Aitken

1200m – Barrier 1

Street Boss filly Macocha is second-up at Caulfield today, four weeks after a plain effort when fresh at Ballarat. The three-year-old galloper settled rearward and couldn’t make an impact on that occasion, rising in grade for today’s race at the same trip. Jockey Mitch Aitken leaves from the inside alley and will let his filly find her feet in the early parts, looking to pinch inside runs in the home straight.

Playlist is the likely leader in this, following a comfortable on-speed win on debut at Kyneton three weeks ago. She’s sharply up in grade here but does look to have her share of ability. Will get every chance from the front, each way claims. Grinzinger Pod has had three starts this campaign, all in Stakes grade, and will appreciate coming back to this company today. She’ll be near the back turning for home and looking to finish over the top. Hardest to beat. Can throw a blanket over the rest in an even affair, perhaps Grinzinger Love next best, coming off a good effort at Moonee Valley.

Macocha will be better for her first-up run and blinkers are removed today. She should enjoy a soft trail throughout and can look to pass a few in the run home. Top four chance, better over slightly further later in her preparation.

Currently, Macocha is a $35 chance in the market.
