Henry Dwyer Racing – Thursday Preview

Bendigo

Race 1 – Composite Action

Jockey – Mitch Aitken

1000m – Barrier 9

Promising filly Composite Action makes her racetrack debut at Bendigo this afternoon. The two-year-old daughter of Foxwedge has had three jumpouts in readiness for today, the latest given a quiet time when trucking up behind them at Burrumbeet over 1000-metres. Jockey Mitch Aitken rides from towards the outside and can let his filly find her feet in the early parts, looking to finish off in the home straight.

Tricky speed map with seven of twelve runners having their first starts, but no surprise to see Express Yo’self and Red Extreme drive forward from the gates, while Versaille and Where’s Brittany may elect to punch through from the centre and hold forward positions in the run. Express Yo’self had three starts in her summer campaign, finishing third behind Eneeza in the Merson Cooper on debut before a solid runner-up effort in 2YO company at Caulfield next time out. No luck from a wide draw in the Inglis Millennium in February before being sent to the paddock, but recent jumpouts suggest she’s returned in good order. One of the main chances today. Invincible Madison started second favourite in Group-3 company on debut in Sydney during spring but raced wide throughout and was never likely. She was immediately spelled and returns here on the back of a host of trials. Strong each way claims from a good draw. Loblolly and Where’s Brittany come through the same Flemington jumpout, finishing one-two there with the latter going a little better. Versaille has shown ability before her first start here. All with each way claims.

Composite Action has the ability to match it with these, but first-up from an awkward draw makes her job all the harder today. She should get a nice run in the second half of the field and have the chance to run on and make some ground late. Can run top six.

Currently, Composite Action is a $26 chance in the market.

Race 2 – Chilli Tycoon

Jockey – Jack Hill

1300m – Barrier 12

Three-year–old galloper Chilli Tycoon steps out to 1300-metres for the first time at Bendigo this afternoon. The Written Tycoon filly has been well-held in three runs this preparation, but comes here fit for recent racing and ready to improve out in trip. Jockey Jack Hill leaves from the outside gate in a field of twelve and will find cover in the second half of the field, looking to run on in the home straight.

Not a heap of speed early on, with Manhattan View and Fire High as likely as any to roll forward and find the top, while Scopri draws for a lovely trail in behind the speed from a low draw. This galloper was around the mark in all four career runs over summer and has jumped out nicely for her return here. Will improve over more ground but must be considered one of the main chances. Manhattan View was solid at this track when fresh three weeks ago and will get every chance from the front today. Will take catching. Our Queen and Sleek Emma have both jumped out well before their debut runs today, No surprise to see either figure in the finish. Fire High next nest in an even contest.

Chilli Tycoon needs to improve to mix it with these today but will get the chance to balance up and run home late in the piece. She’ll be better for the run again today, look for her to be running through the line.

Currently, Chilli Tycoon is a $101 chance in the market.
