Henry Dwyer Racing – Thursday preview

Kilmore

Race 3 – Navajo Warrior

Jockey – Mitch Aitken

1450m – Barrier 9

Lightly raced five-year old Navajo Warrior heads to Kilmore this afternoon after finishing midfield in town four weeks ago. The Mettre En Jeu gelding ran into a strong maiden at The Valley and perhaps didn’t handle the unique circuit, but is much better suited back in today’s company. Jockey Mitch Aitken leaves from the outside barrier in a field of nine and will look to roll forward in the early stages. Zasceed will jump quickly and lead or sit outside the leader. He’s racing consistently, showing great fight last start at a mile and dropping back in distance will do his chances no harm. Self Worth has blinkers added today and will kick-up from an inside draw, looking to hold out Zasceed. The two can control proceedings from the front and could have the race between them if they get their own way. Boom Boom rocks is yet to run a bad race and must be considered a winning hope if he gets the breaks from an awkward draw. The Dwyer runner will be looking to jump cleanly and push forward to the front half of the field. Aitken will need some luck in the early parts with only a short run to the first bend but if he can find a position outside or just off the speed, he can collect a cheque here. Dropping back in distance the query.

Currently, Navajo Warrior is an $11 chance in the market.
