Henry Dwyer Racing – Thursday preview

The big wet continues to claim turf victims, but the home poly track welcomes a debutant from the Dwyer stable today.

Race 1 – Equatori

Jockey – Will Price

1100m – Barrier 6

Recent Burrumbeet jumpout winner Equatori faces the starter for the first time today on the synthetic surface at Ballarat. The three-year-old filly has looked professional in two hitouts around the Burrumbeet circuit and looks ready for the pressures of raceday over the 1100-metre sprint trip. Jockey Will Price will begin from gate six and, given his mount has began cleanly in her trials, should have the option to sit on or near the speed throughout the maiden event. Hardest to beat looks to be the Waterhouse/Bott first-starter The Unicorn who has looked very sharp at a trio of Flemington jumpouts.

From the trainer:

She’s done plenty of work on the poly so there’s no concern about that.

The three raced horses appear limited…it’s a race for the first starters.

Currently, Equatori is an $8 chance in the market.
