Swan Hill
Race 4 – Savvy Bee
Jockey – Madison Lloyd
1600m – Barrier 10
Improving mare Savvy Bee is third-up and fitter when she steps out to a mile at Sawn Hill this afternoon. The daughter of Savabeel has been runner-up in both starts this preparation, copping early interference and carried wide at her latest before rallying to finish the race strongly. Up to 1600-metres looks ideal, jockey Madison Lloyd to land where comfortable from the outside gate in a field of ten.
Speed looks genuine enough early, with Eagles Forever to punch through from the middle and look to control the lead, while Jayzeal and Firm As A Rock won’t be far away heading into the first bend. Firm As A Rock was a strong winner at Kyneton three starts back, beating home Savvy Bee on that occasion, and just missed at Yarra Valley last time out. She had excuses two back and must be considered a winning chance today. Eagles Forever found the 1100-metres too slick first-up but was far from disgraced. Out to a mile will suit and he should find an ideal position in the run. In the mix. So too Jayzeal and Sidereal who were both disappointing last time out but had been racing well prior. Each way claims.
Savvy Bee comes here fitter third-up and ready to win off two good runs this time in. She’ll need even luck from a sticky draw, but if she finds a back to follow early, she’ll prove hard to hold out late. Genuine winning hope.
Currently, Savvy Bee is a $2.10 chance in the market.

Race 7 – Riding High
Jockey – Madison Lloyd
2400m – Barrier 4
Stable veteran Riding High continues to build fitness for the jumps season, second-up and out in trip at Swan Hill this afternoon. The ten-year-old son of Raise The Flag was sound when fresh over a mile at Werribee four weeks ago, and has since had a flat and steeple trial to keep ticking over for today’s event. Out to 2400-metres is suitable, jockey Madison Lloyd able to lob outside the lead or tucked in behind the speed from an ideal gate.
Vic Reel will punch forward from barrier three early and look to control the race from the front, while Fifth Husband, Here With Me and Wheal Rose can roll across from wider out to take up forward positions heading into the back. Open affair. Vic Reel has had seven weeks between runs, not far away at Geelong last time out. She won over 2400-metres at Hanging Rock in January and draws for a favourable run today. One of the main contenders. Sweet Bella was outclassed in the Marong Cup but bounced back with a good effort in this grade last start. She’ll be one of the late closers. Concede each way chances to Vividredsky, Here With Me and El Campeon, who combined are almost 2000 days out of the winner’s stall.
Riding High is enjoying a busy preparation and comes here fitter for it. He draws for a lovely run and the effort over an unsuitable trip at Werribee is encouraging for today. In an even affair that lacks any real standouts, he must be considered an each way chance.
Currently, Riding High is an $11 chance in the market.
