Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

Seymour

Race 7 – Prairie Flower

Jockey – Mitch Aitken

1100m – Barrier 10

Resuming mare Prairie Flower strikes a hot race at Seymour this afternoon. The four-year-old daughter of Star Turn raced consistently in her three-year-old campaign, competitive in Listed company before finding the paddock in April. A sound recent jumpout suggests she has returned well, and jockey Mitch Aitken can let his mare find her feet from a wide gate and settle in the second half of the field today.

Speed looks ok with Along The River and Who Dares to roll forward early on, while Sans Doute will bot up underneath them and hold its spot nearer the fence. Open race. Bews was very good at Flemington two starts back when unlucky not to get the better of Our Last Cash. He was solid at the same track a fortnight ago when run down by smart galloper Electric Impulse late. He’s drawn ideally and only needs to hold his form to be right in the mix here. Along The River had an ‘almost’ preparation last time, racing well without having things fall his way. He’s jumped out well in preparation for today and looks the value in the race. Sans Doute was good at her Australian debut and strips fitter second-up today. She’s drawn favourably and will be in this for a long way. Who Dares has a good fresh record (2:1-1-0) and will be given every chance from up near the speed. Just one career win the query but sure to be thereabouts as usual. Concede an each way chance to Nasraawy who was mixing with strong company last time in.

Prairie Flower was placed behind She Dances and River Noire at Flemington when first-up last preparation; a repeat performance sees her in the conversation this afternoon. She’ll get back and wind up rounding the home turn. If runners can make ground at Seymour today, she’s in with an each way chance.

Currently, Prairie Flower is a $15 chance in the market.

Horsham

Race 2 – Rising Sun

Jockey – Jack Hill

1100m – Barrier 8

Four-year-old debutant Rising Sun kicks off his career over 1100-metres at Horsham this afternoon. The gelded son of Fighting Sun jumped out nicely at Donald a month ago before despising the poly at Ballarat at his latest hitout. Back to turf today, he gets a lovely surface at this stage of the day, jockey Jack Hill able to let his gelding settle where comfortable from the gates early on.

Caerau Girl will jump fast from the outside and roll across, while Asteletto can use a good
draw to settle handy in the run. This mare has been jumping out well and looks ready to an impact on debut. At five-years-old, they’ve taken their time with this mare, so assuming there is some ability there. One of the chances. Nullafiord will be positive from a low draw and maps to be the leader turning for home, a formula that usually yields good results around this track. Will be in this for a long way. Frowned has had plenty of chances but generally runs well without getting the job done. No surprise to see him fill a spot in the top four today. Miss Obscenity has jumped out well enough to be considered a chance here, while Caerau Girl looks to have returned in good order from a long layoff.

Rising Sun will be better for the run today, but this is a suitable starting point for this galloper. A windy day is predicted so finding cover will be beneficial for this inexperienced gelding. He can run inot the top four without surprising.

Currently, Rising Sun is a $7 chance in the market.
