Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday preview

Swan Hill

Race 7 – Better Tomorrow

Jockey – Tahlia Hope

1300m – Barrier 6

Lonhro gelding Better Tomorrow will look for an improved performance today after finding the pattern against him at his last few race starts. The long straight at Sawn Hill will give the five-year-old plenty of time to balance up and hit top gear, and he’ll appreciate the rise to 1300-metres here. Jockey Tahlia Hope will drift back from a middle draw but won’t want to get too far out of her ground, ideally holding a spot just worse than midfield in the running line. Speed Bump for Luke Oliver shapes as hardest to beat in this. She had been trending towards a win prior to last start where she had no luck at all. Her placing behind Hard Questions two back reads well for this. Captain Rogers is second-up for the Bobbin stable who have a canny knack for getting horses to come to hand quickly. He was good enough first-up and can figure in the finish here. The race opens up from there and the Dwyer runner must be considered a top-three chance. He will enjoy getting back on dry ground and will have ample opportunity to wind up and chase down the leaders in the long run home.

Currently, Better Tomorrow is a $10 chance in the market.
