Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday preview

Benalla

Race 3 – Savvy Bee

Jockey – Mitch Aitken

1406m – Barrier 6

Promising filly Savvy Bee looks to go one better than her second-placed effort at Werribee when she steps out in race three this afternoon. The daughter of Savabeel has had two runs this prep, beaten under a length fresh at Colac before running second to Schiller Effect three weeks ago. That horse has since won in benchmark-58 grade and third from that race, Empress Of Sydney, starts favourite in the next race on the card. Jockey Mitch Aitken has a long run to the bend from a middle gate and can find a forward position with cover given the early speed drawn to his outside. Fire Of Etna and Merchelle present as chances here, while Adrett has been solid in the market. Dwyer’s three-year-old brings good form to this race and her best efforts are good enough to win a race like this.

Currently, Savvy Bee is an $8 chance in the market.

Geelong

Race 8 – The Siscos Kid

Jockey – Josh Cartwright

1212m – Barrier 6

Danerich gelding The Siscos Kid heads to Geelong third-up and fit for racing when he takes on the final event of the program over 1212-metres. The rise in trip will suit this six-year-old who has found his rivals too slick at his first two outings this prep, settling at the rear and running on without threat in both runs. Jockey Josh Cartwright will find cover from a middle draw with most speed influences drawn to his inside, and will want clear galloping room approaching the bend to build momentum for the run home. This is an open race, with six runners quoted in single figures in betting. Ex-kiwi Princeofcambridge is an interesting runner here and has the ability to win this, while Thunder Park is racing consistently this campaign. The Siscos Kid gets a little weight relief for today’s contest and is a good chance of a top-three finish if he brings his best to the track.

Currently, The Siscos Kid is a $23 chance in the market.
