Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in LET IT RIP REGGIE and PACKER’S BOND running at Kilmore.

Kilmore – Good (4)

The track has come up a Good 4 and with fine weather forecast it will likely be a Good 3 come race eight on the card. Kilmore is a tricky track with a downhill run towards the home bend that can bring some horses unstuck. Momentum is key, especially in 2000m races.

Race 1 (1.35pm) Hanson Cleaning Services Maiden Plate

No.4 LET IT RIP REGGIE – Blaike McDougall (Barrier 4)

LET IT RIP REGGIE heads to Kilmore today where he will contest a 1350m Maiden. He has drawn gate four and Blaike McDougall rides.

LET IT RIP REGGIE is now looking for the mile and he’s had a nice jump out since his first-up run at Ballarat. He will put himself on the speed which is where you want to be at Kilmore and in a field such as the one he meets today, he will be somewhat competitive here. STARION clearly the horse to beat, so it might be more likely competing for the placings.

If he doesn’t win today, he will be off to the King Island Cup!

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9.50 (as at 8am)

Race 8 (5.45pm) Ricky Thompson Memorial BM64 Handicap

No.2 PACKER’S BOND – Blaike McDougall (Barrier 5)

PACKER’S BOND also heads to Kilmore today where he will contest a 2000m BM64. He has drawn gate five and Blaike McDougall will ride.

PACKER’S BOND will appreciate getting away from the heavy track at Kyneton last time out where he never fired a shot. His two runs prior since joining the yard were solid and he gets back out to the 2000m for only the second time in his career, with the other resulting in a really strong win at Wagga. From gate five, he should get a lovely trail in the race and Blaike will be able to pop out into the three-wide line when they come around the home bend, hopefully putting him into the race with some momentum.

He’s a horse that’s a little bit in and out with his form and often chooses when he wants to put in, hopefully today being on top of the ground will help and he will run a much better race today than last start.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $10 (as at 8am)
