The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in KEIICHI and MAGIC CITY running at Ballarat.
Ballarat – Soft (5)
The track is rated a Soft 5 with a few showers in the forecast. The rail is back into the true position for Seymour Cup Day at Ballarat and it should race very well.
Race 1 (12.40pm) Eureka Concrete Maiden Plate
No.3 KEIICHI – John Allen (Barrier 5)
KEIICHI heads to Ballarat today where she will contest a 1000m Maiden. She has drawn gate five and John Allen will ride.
KEIICHI was heavily-backed at Swan Hill last time out when she raced on speed before tiring late at the 975m. As the meeting went on it became apparent that the inside section of the track probably wasn’t the A-ground so that goes some way to forgiving the run. That said, she was still plain late and this is a stronger maiden.
We have made a couple of minor gear changes for her here with a tongue tie going on to make sure we can rule out that she is choking down and we will look to ride her further back rather than look to lead. More hopeful to see her improve today.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $19 (as at 8am)

Race 2 (1.15pm) Byerley Racing Club Maiden Plate
No.2 MAGIC CITY – Michael Poy (Barrier 5)
MAGIC CITY also heads to Ballarat where he will contest a 1200m Maiden. He has drawn gate five and Michael Poy will ride.
MAGIC CITY has the blinkers on for the first time and getting to the 1200m with added fitness under his belt hopefully has can settle handier. He got a fair way back off a moderate tempo at Benidgo first up and had no chance the way the race was run, although he did whip home the 7th best last 200m split of the meeting. Coming into this campaign off a long spell he should have plenty of fitness benefit to come from that fresh run and he draws ideally.
This is a race has come up quiet strong for a maiden but he can be competitive here in with what he has shown in his work on the course proper in the lead-up.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $13 (as at 8am)
