Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in BRUNGLE BERTIE and THE DOMINATOR running at Casterton.

Casterton – Soft (6)

Race 2 (11.55pm) E-Cycle Solutions Maiden Hurdle

No.2 BRUNGLE BERTIE – Steve Pateman (Barrier 5)

BRUNGLE BERTIE heads to Casterton today where he will tackle a 3480m Maiden Hurdle. He has drawn gate five and Steve Pateman takes the ride.

BRUNGLE BERTIE gets over the jumps for his first time today and this a lower level maiden hurdle for him to tackle with a couple of key scratchings. We have gun jockey Steve Pateman onboard who will look to put him where he is comfortable in the run, he is a dour stayer who loves the wet and today is a great starting point for his future career over the jumps.

He will stay all day, the big query is of course how he handles the obstacles against a couple of runners today with more experience, however if he can find his way around safely he will go close to breaking his maiden at his first attempt.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $3.80 (as at 8am)

Race 7 (3.05pm) Bet 365 0-58 Handicap

No.13 THE DOMINATOR – Lucinda Boyd (Barrier 9)

THE DOMINATOR also heads to Casterton today where he will run in a 2000m 0-58 Handicap. He has drawn gate nine and Lucinda Boyd will ride.

THE DOMINATOR is on track to head to Warrnambool next Sunday in either the Thackeray or the Benchmark 120. He has performed very well in a trial recently following a good gallop at Geelong six days prior, which gives us more confidence that he is more switched on than he has been in recent times. These older jumpers do tend to switch off a little bit on the flat runs and save themselves for the obstacles, whether that is the case with THE DOMINATOR will be shown today.

Today is really just a lead-up race to next weekend and to make sure he is on track for his jump’s assignment.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $23 (as at 8am)
