The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with BUDD FOX running at Sandown.
Sandown – Good (4)
Racing today is on the Hillside track which is the outer of the two circuits at Sandown. It features a lovely, long 490m home straight that ensures all horses get their chance. The rial has moved to the 7m position and with fine weather forecast expect and upgrade to a Good 3 at some point.
Race 6 (4.50pm) Ladbroke It Handicap
No.1 BUDD FOX – Damien Thornton (Barrier 5)
BUDD FOX heads to Sandown today where he will contest a 2400m BM70. He has drawn gate five and Damien Thornton will ride.
BUDD FOX has been freshened-up since stretching to the 3000m at The Valley where he fell just short of Darvin, with a big gap back to third. He has been to the jumps trials between runs so there aren’t any fitness concerns coming off a five week break. From gate five he should get a lovely run in transit just off what looks to be a good enough tempo and he is a track and distance winner in the past. Although he’s back in grade from a BM78, there’s plenty of depth to this BM70, so he will need to be at his best to get the cash.
A sneaky chance at good odds today, he’ll be one out, one back, Damien will look to make it a genuine staying test and hopefully he can be there fighting out the finish.
