The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with GIMME THE GOSS running at Kyneton.
Kyneton – Soft (6)
The track has come up a Soft 6 and with mild conditions forecast for the day, expect it to stay in that range. The rail moves from the true position at the most recent meeting to the 6m spot, so they should be racing on reasonably fresh ground. Generally speaking, on a rain-affected track at Kyneton the inside can chop out as the day goes on – but keep an eye on that. The most important thing at Kyneton is to have momentum well before the short home straight.
Race 7 (4.30pm) Coad Real Estate BM58 Handicap
No.4 GIMME THE GOSS – Tayla Childs a(3) (Barrier 5)
GIMME THE GOSS heads to Kyneton where she will tackle the 1118m Benchmark 58. She has drawn gate five and Tayla Childs will ride claiming three kilograms.
GIMME THE GOSS had everything go right for her three back at Terang when she was able to post a win in BM58 company with the blinkers going on. She over-did it at Morphettville when up in grade last start, ripping through the first 200m of that race 2.2L above standard and another 2.3L above from the 800-400m marks – she just left nothing in the tank for the finish. This is a much easier assignment and she is a Soft 5 winner in the past, she’s at peak fitness now and with the claim for Tayla Childs gets in well at the weights.
With a more economical run today she will far more competitive than her last start, COUNTESS TESSA and NORBU look like they are the most progressive in this field and the ones to beat. She should run up to her best today and hopefully she can go close to getting back into the winner’s circle today.
