Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today with THE SISCOS KID and LA FALAISE running at Stawell.

Stawell – Good (4)

Race 2 (1.40pm) TAC Drinking Driving Better Apart

No.3 THE SISCOS KID – John Allen (Barrier 10)

THE SISCOS KID heads to Stawell where he will tackle the 1300 metre Maiden for four-year-olds and upwards. He has drawn gate ten and John Allen will ride.

Second-up today with the blinkers staying on, THE SISCOS KID was good first-up albeit too far back to make an impression, with the closing sectionals good. While it’s hard to know the form from that race given many of the runners haven’t stepped out since, THE SISCOS KID is going along well and looks great and while still improving with every run, he is showing that he might be a better grade of horse than what he meets today. He will be ridden more positively today and from the wide barrier should get across given there isn’t much speed in the race, potentially even leading given the rail in the True on a good track often favours leaders at Stawell.

We have the right jockey engaged and what is not an overly strong race, THE SISCOS KID is a good chance to break through for his maiden win today.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $7.50 (as at 8am)

Race 7 (4.50pm) Stuart McGregor Stawell Gold Cup

No.7 LA FALAISE – Damien Thornton (Barrier 6)

LA FALAISE also heads to Stawell where she will tackle the 2000 metre Stuart McGregor Stawell Gold Cup. She has drawn gate six and Damien Thornton will ride.

LA FALAISE heads to this race in good order, her form has been good with her run at Ballarat two starts back she was unlucky and should have finished closer, while last start at The Valley the pattern of the day didn’t suit and she didn’t get the right run, running ok only being beaten three and half lengths. Today is a similar strength race to last start and she enjoys some weight relief, we will look to be midfield and following a horse like THE REGIMENT in the run who will take us a long way.

With the right run she can win this race, she’s as fit as we can have her, the 2000 metres suits and with some luck in running she can definetly be there at the finish.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $5.50 (as at 8am)
