Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

The HDR stable has one runner today in IRISH PLAYBOY at Sale.

Sale – Soft (5)

The track has come up a Soft 5 after 5.5mm of rain moved through Sale in the past 24 hours. The last two meetings at Sale have been held on rain-affected ground and the rail now goes back to the true after being out 4m, so I suspect that inside a few metres will be superior ground. The fine, warm weather will quickly dry the track out while forecast light winds shouldn’t have an impact on racing.(Form Analyst Matt Welsh)

Race 8 (5.05pm)  Maryvale Sand   BM 64 1717m

No.1 Irish Playboy – Aaron Lynch (Barrier 1)

IRISH PLAYBOY (1) heads to Sale on Sunday where he’ll contest a 1717m BM64 (Race 8, 5.05pm). The son of Fastnet Rock has drawn gate one and Aaron Lynch rides.

IRISH PLAYBOY was able to be more forward at Morphettville last time out and that would be a good tactic to employ here in the small field. He was very good at Geelong three back off a hot tempo but has equally managed to run well on moderate-to-slow tempos at his past two, and that’s the likely race shape he will face here. This is a much weaker race than he has been contesting and he showed the 63kg was no issue a few starts back. He has a good turn of foot should this turn into a sit-sprint and as the market would suggest he’s in this up to his ears. (Form Analyst Matt Welsh)

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $1.90 (as at 8am)
