Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in HARBOURMASTER and MORPURGO at Donald today.

Donald – Good (4)

As at Friday – the latest update – the track was a Good 4 but given there was some significant rainfall since then it would likely be somewhere in the soft range. The 1350m start at Donald has a nice, long run down the back straight before they start turning and it’s a track that, for mine, generally gives every horse its chance. The forecast on Sunday is for fine, warm weather so expect the track to continue to improve throughout the day. (Form Analyst Matt Welsh)

Race 1 (1.40pm)  Donald Motor Lodge Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate 1350m

No.2 HARBOURMASTER – Mitch Aitken (Barrier 2)

HARBOURMASTER (2) heads to Donald on Sunday where he will contest a 1350m Maiden (Race 1, 1.40). He has drawn gate two and Mitch Aitken takes the ride.

HARBOURMASTER jumped-out reasonably well prior to his Terang debut where he left the barriers well but got shuffled back In what was a fairly genuinely run race. He worked home steadily down the outside in what looked to be a fairly handy maiden. The step to 1350m looks absolutely ideal and from gate two he should be able to hold a more prominent spot, especially as they will likely go at a more gentle tempo. He will be much-improved for that debut outing and this certainly isn’t the strongest maiden ever run.(Matt Welsh)

The step-up in distance to 1350m is a positive as the last start over 1200m he started well but they were to slick early to keep up. He will be looking for further after this run. He is a decent chance if he runs well or can win today then going forward in the preparation with the step-up in trips he may be one to follow.(Stable)

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $10 (as at 8am)

Race 1 (1.40pm)  Donald Motor Lodge Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate 1350m

No.4 MORPURGO – Michael Poy (Barrier 8)

MORPURGO (8) heads to Donald on Sunday where he will contest a 1350m Maiden (Race 1, 1.40). He has drawn gate eight and Michael Poy takes the ride.

MORPURGO (8) trialled OK last preparation on a wet track at Kyneton and has been freshened up since his only start at Geelong, where he settled back before making a small amount of late headway. He stays around that 1300m mark here and will undoubtedly need further before showing his best, based on that performance. (Matt Welsh)

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $27 (as at 8am)
