Ararat
Race 2 – Arrowly
Jockey – Alysha Warren
1100m – Barrier 10
Three-year-old filly Arrowly makes her racetrack debut over 1100-metres at Ararat this afternoon. The daughter of Redente has had two jumpouts this time in, her latest a good effort at Stawell when responding to blinkers and finishing strongly over 800-metres. The headgear stays on for today’s race, apprentice hoop Alysha Warren forced back in the early stages from a wide draw before looking to run on and hit the line in the home straight.
Speed looks genuine here with Dakota Nation to use the inside to punch through and settle near the lead, while expect all of Runaway Love, Fox Man and Moonraker to roll forward and challenge for the top early on. A few with hopes here. Fox Man was solid first-up at Mount Gambier when second over the 900-metre scamper. The trifecta crossed the line a long way ahead of the rest of the field and up in trip should suit today. Drawn for the right run and shapes as one of he main dangers. Moonraker resumes for a new stable, winning a recent Geelong trial in nice fashion. Each way claims. So too Runaway Love, who has been thereabouts at her past couple, and Immortal Justice, who only needs natural improvement from a solid debut effort to feature here. High Flyin’ Rosie next best, should receive the run of the race.
Arrowly heads into her debut race in good order, however a wide gate around this tight circuit is seldom a winning formula. She’ll get back and get her chance to balance up and pass a few late, look for her to be hitting the line in a positive indication for next start.
Currently, Arrowly is a $23 chance in the market.
