Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

Ballarat

Race 1 – Over The Stars

Jockey – Rhys McLeod

1100m – Barrier 1

Promising filly Over The Stars is third-up over 1100-metres at Ballarat this afternoon. The two-year-old daughter of Overshare was solid on debut from the back at The Heath before a positive ride at Warrnambool, where she found just one better four weeks ago. There was plenty of merit in that run, and jockey Rhys McLeod can again let his filly roll forward after drawing the inside alley today.

Speed is unclear with a host of first-starters, but expect Glorioso with the race experience to roll forward from the outside, while debutants Eagle Express, Savvy Rocker and Tuxedo Miss have all shown early speed at the jumpouts. Very tricky race to sort out. Jenni The Fox was asked for an effort but looked good winning a recent Donald jumpout after sitting wide throughout. Awkward draw. Triskele comfortably had the measure of Eagle Express in a (soft) Flemington jumpout six weeks ago and has since been just okay in a Cranbourne debut. Eagle Express has jumped out soundly in the meantime. Stablemates Omaha Dawn and Tuxedo Miss have had quiet jumpouts, while the race experience of Glorioso could prove advantageous. Plenty to learn.

Over The Stars has been good at both race starts and just needs to begin cleanly to put herself right in the picture today. She did a bit wrong last time out yet safely held all but a smart one in a good effort. Any improvement from that run sees her as one of the main chances today.

Currently, Over The Stars is a $4.40 chance in the market.
