Henry Dwyer Racing – Saturday preview

Warracknabeal

Race 8 – Better Tomorrow

Jockey – Tahlia Hope

1600m – Barrier 11

Five-year-old gelding Better Tomorrow steps out to a mile at Warracknabeal as he looks to snap a seventy-four-week absence from the winner’s stall. The Dwyer runner was doing his best work late at Avoca last start without ever threatening and the stable will be hoping the jump in distance can trigger a better result today. Jockey Tahlia Hope has a tricky draw in gate eleven but had a good run into the first turn to find a midfield position with cover. Supreme Thunder looks the likely leader from gate three, with Bavarian Lady a chance to push forward from a middle draw. Supreme Thunder just missed at Ararat last start and is suited in this grade of race. He is short in the market despite not winning for nearly two years and no wins on rain-affected tracks. He may well breakthrough here but can’t have him at the price. Sports Idol represents better value coming off a last start win at Donald. The Austy Coffey galloper had been racing well leading up to that result and can make it two on the bounce here. Heavy Rotation is trending towards a win but will have plenty of work to do from the back, while Bonjour looks ready for his first crack at a mile this preparation. Both look each way shows. Better Tomorrow needs a bit to go right early in the event if he is to be in the finish here. He needs to improve on his past couple of runs to feature here but this is not beyond his best efforts.

Currently, Better Tomorrow is a $16 chance in the market.
