A stable stalwart looks to bring up an Adelaide double, while Leolaine will have to wait another day as the Tatura meeting falls victim to the big wet.
Race 4 – Moscow Red
Jockey – Will Price
Barrier – 2
Moscow Red comes back to a mile in the search of back-to-back wins on Morphett Road. The nine-year-old mare won impressively a fortnight ago at 1800-metres, finishing far too strongly to record her first win in her South Australian campaign. The drop in distance is a query today, the daughter of Road To Rock has been racing a little more dour in her later years and may lack the turn of foot required this afternoon. That said, Will Price gets along well with this horse and he’ll be looking for room rounding the home bend to get out after the leaders. Alpine Flyer and Headphones are both racing in good form, and the veteran Frances Boy will push forward from and inside draw and no doubt lead them to the turn.
From the trainer:
Just dropping back to mile is a concern, as is the inside draw.
She’ll need luck – if she gets it she’ll be strong late.
Currently, Moscow Red is a $5 chance in the market.
