The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in HOLLERLUJAH and MORPURGO at Bendigo.
Bendigo – Good (4)
The track at Bendigo has come up a Good 4 on race morning and at some point during the afternoon it may sneak up to a Good 3, but with lower temperatures forecast it shouldn’t firm up too much. The track on this day can often favour those on speed a touch, but Bendigo is a well laid out track with a good run home and especially in this staying race all horses should get their chance. Race 3 (1:35pm) Apiam Animal Health VOBIS Gold Rush 1000m
No.12 HOLLERLUJAH– Mitch Aitken (Barrier 15)
HOLLERLUJAH (15) makes her debut at Bendigo on Saturday in the 1000m VOBIS Gold Rush (Race 3, 1.35pm). She has drawn gate fifteen and Mitch Aitken will ride.
HOLLERLUJAH is drawn out but there is only one bend to navigate from the 1000m start at Bendigo, so that doesn’t look the end of the world. She hasn’t been knocked around in either jump-out at Ballarat or Camperdown so it’s really hard to get a solid assessment on her ahead of this debut. She does look to move quite well, the stable is travelling very nicely and if there’s something under the hood when Aitken pushes the ‘go’ button then she can certainly be competitive. (Form Analyst Matt Welsh)
Coming into this off the back of a good trail last week at Camperdown, HOLLERLUJAH makes her much-anticipated debut. Drawing wide won’t be too much of a concern out of the chute at Bendigo, Mitch knows this filly well and with luck will be able to travel three-wide with cover the trip before unleashes the daughter of Holler in the home straight to hopefully kick start the career with a win. The stable has a high opinion of this filly and thinks she can run a competitive race today. (Stable)

Race 6 (3:35pm) The Big Screen Company Bendigo St Leger Trial 2200m
No.10 MORPURGO– Michael Poy (Barrier 2)
MORPURGO (2) heads to Bendigo on Saturday where he will contest the Bendigo St Leger Trial over 2200m (Race 6, 3.35pm). he has drawn gate two and Michael Poy will ride.
MORPURGO is an out and out stayer. His win two back at Ballarat was really strong out at 2600m and he just spotted them too big a start back in trip last at Terang. Back up to the 2200m is ideal and from gate two he should get an economical run in transit. This isn’t an overly strong edition of the race and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see MORPURGO in the finish. That said, I do think he would be even better suited to the 2800m of a St Leger. (Form Analyst Matt Welsh)
MORPURGO steps out again on his road to the St Leger at Flemington on Anzac Day. Drawn in a sticky position Michael will look to take the gelding into the back half of the field in the early stages of the run, It is a nice track for running on with a long home straight so with luck hopefully he can pop off the fence down the side and get clear running room to be hitting the line strongly. Stable is extremely happy with this galloper and should be a handy each-way shot at odds(Stable)
