The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today in LEOLAINE running at Yarra Valley.
Yarra Valley – Good (4)
Yarra Valley has come up a Good 4 for racing and with fine weather forecast expect that to get up to a Good 3 early in the meeting. Yarra Valley is a tight-turning circuit with a short straight and when tracks are on the firmer side it is rarely a disadvantage to be too far away from the speed.

No.10 LEOLAINE – Michael Poy (Barrier 5)
LEOLAINE heads to Yarra Valley where she will run in the 1000m Maiden. She has drawn gate five and Michael Poy will ride.
LEOLAINE comes back for her second campaign having been just ‘fair’ in one run on the synthetic at Ballarat last campaign. She debuted on a putrid day weather-wise in the depths of winter and we are happy to be quite forgiving of the performance. Horses can rapidly improve from their first to second preparations and she has jumped-out very well leading in to this campaign. Based on her early speed, the 1000m at Yarra Valley looks a most suitable target first up.
This race has thinned out with scratchings, she has a nice barrier and should put herself just behind the speed in the run. MIDWEST clearly looks the horse to beat, but LEOLAINE has plenty of ability and if she can’t beat the favourite then she will certainly be thereabouts come the finish.
