The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today in PACKERS BOND running at Caulfield
Caulfield – Good (4)
Race 2 (1:20pm) James Hurley Handicap 2380m
No.7 Packers Bond – Blaike McDougall (Barrier 2)
PACKER’S BOND (2) heads to Caulfield on Saturday where he will contest a 2380m BM70 (Race 2, 1.20 pm). He has drawn gate two and Blaike McDougall rides.
PACKER’S BOND can settle right on the back of the speed and he should enjoy every possible hope in the run. He ran third to Daqiansweet Junior last start and that horse is a key form reference point towards Saturday’s race with the favourite, and horse to beat, also finishing behind that same horse the last start. PACKER’S BOND has done a good job since joining the Henry Dwyer stable, recapturing the form that saw him quite dominant early in his career and this looks a lovely option for him to step out on a Saturday. While he would never have troubled the winner at The Valley last start he would’ve been better-served building momentum down the side rather than being held up to the point of the home bend and being forced to sprint up the home straight. He’s among the winner hopes in a race with a few chances. (Form comments Matt Welsh)
