Bendigo
Race 6 – Macocha
Jockey – Mitch Aitken
1300m – Barrier 11
Street boss filly Macocha rises slightly in trip when she heads to Bendigo this afternoon. The three-year-old galloper has been good at her past two outings, running on well in a leader-dominated affair at Kilmore before a luckless run at Kyneton a fortnight ago. Jockey Mitch Aitken has been dealt no favours from the outside barrier, looking to begin cleanly and find a position in the front half of the field on settling.
Speed is okay with The Wizard King the most likely leader from the centre, while expect Rich Dispute, Russian Summer and Game Theory to be thereabouts on settling. The Wizard King may be able to run this race to suit, able to control proceedings from the outset if left alone. Will give them all something to catch, hardest to beat on best efforts. Russian Summer has one win from twenty-four starts but was good from the back in a leader’s race first-up. Impossible to trust as a winning prospect, but each way claims. So too Stand By Me Ned, who will be running on from the back. He was okay first-up without the best of luck and no surprise to see him fill a placing. Game Theory next best.
Macocha finds the right race today, just needing even luck in the early parts to find her position in the run. She should’ve finished much closer last start, the extra 100-metres today looking in her favour. One of the main contenders.
Currently, Macocha is a $6 chance in the market.
