Henry Dwyer Racing – Saturday Preview

Dunkeld

Race 6 – Friday At Five

Jockey – Neil Farley

1800m – Barrier 9

Last start winner Friday At Five gets out to 1800-metres for this afternoon’s Dunkeld Cup. The six-year-old daughter of Zoustar was a deserved victor at Ballarat last start, stringing together a series of good runs that culminated in a strong on-pace win on her home deck. Jockey Neil Farley rides from barrier nine of ten today, looking to step cleanly and land outside or just behind the speed in the run to the first bend.

Speed is okay with a few looking to land in the front half of the field on settling. Chevalier Du Fau will punch through from gate three and likely land on-speed, while expect Any Luck and Rhinoceros to be thereabouts heading into the back straight. Rhinoceros led at a very fast tempo in the Peninsula Cup at Mornington last start, tiring badly late in what was to be a new track record. Blinkers come off today and expect him to settle better in the run. He won fourth-up last campaign. One of the main chances. Any Luck has been a model of consistency of late, in the placings his last four, including an Avoca Cup win. He beat Chevalier Du Fau on that occasion, expect his usual honest effort again here. Each way chance to flossing, who will need plenty of luck from the outside draw.

Friday At Five is another who will need luck in the early stages to find her position up near the speed from a wide gate. She’s going as well as anything in this and gets in with just 54kg. If she finds her spot heading into the back, she’ll take a power if running down late.

Currently, Friday At Five is a $3.90 chance in the market.
