Henry Dwyer Racing – Saturday Preview

Avoca

Race 3 – Hard To Go Wrong

Jockey – Madison Lloyd

1300m – Barrier 4

Three-year-old galloper Hard To Go Wrong makes his racetrack debut at Avoca this afternoon. The gelded son of Epaulette has jumped out three times this campaign, given an easy time on each occasion in preparation for today. Jockey Madison Lloyd rides from barrier four and won’t bustle her gelding early, looking for cover midfield in the run to the first bend.

Speed is drawn inside with Dantooine to look for the top from gate two, while Lucky Duck and Easy Money will be handy in the early stages. Dantooine was runner-up at Horsham on debut behind a well-supported winner, only going down by half-a-length. He’ll be better for that effort and draws to control the race from the front. Hardest to beat. Xaphan didn’t have the clearest path home at Warracknabeal last start, finishing well from worse than midfield. She’s drawn wide and will likely go back again but cannot discount as a winning hope here. Lucky Duck was posted wide on-speed last tie out, boxing on well to hold down second position. Drawn for a better run from the inside today, another with strong claims. Easy Money next best.

Hard To Go Wrong should get a soft run tucked behind runners throughout the race, able to ease out and run on in the home straight. He’ll be better for the outing today, but no surprise to see him pick up and hit the line strongly. Each way claims.

Currently, Hard To Go Wrong is a $15 chance in the market.
