The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today at Ballarat on the synthetic in OCEAN ARC and ORDER OF VALOUR.
The Ballarat Synthetic has been racing reasonably well of late and if anything, I’d say it’s a slight advantage to be on speed.
Ballarat – All Weather Track
Race 5 (3pm) Porter Plant Bm58 Handicap
No.5 OCEAN ARC – Regan Bayliss (Barrier 6)
OCEAN ARC heads to Ballarat today where he will contest a 1400m BM58. He has drawn gate six and Regan Bayliss will ride.
OCEAN ARC worked to the line quite strongly first-up at this track over 1200m and the step to 1400m on Monday looks ideal. Prior to that first-up run, he jumped-out well on this surface, so it was no surprise to see him race OK fresh. From gate six, there’s an opportunity to be more forward in a race lacking any genuine tempo up front and this is a fairly winnable race for this gelding.
He’s a definite chance today but will need some luck from the barrier if he finds himself behind runners, but with a view that he will be even better next start.

No.2 ORDER OF VALOUR – Damien Thornton (Barrier 4)
ORDER OF VALOUR also heads to Ballarat today where he will tackle an 1100m BM58. He has drawn gate four and Damien Thornton will ride.
This is a drop back in grade for ORDER OF VALOUR and he is drawn to get a lovely run, just behind the speed. He will appreciate getting back on firmer going here and the horse he ran fourth to last start ran well at Flemington on Saturday. He has had a strong jump-out win at Burrumbeet between runs which should have him switched right on for today’s effort and there’s no doubt his best is good enough to win a race like this.
MAMELON and NINE CLOUDS look the main dangers to ORDER OF VALOUR who we are expecting to be in the finish.
