The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with CRISTOFINA at Warrnambool.
Warrnambool – Soft (5)
With three jumps races on the cards the track has been watered down to a Soft 5. They have had to put 50mm of irrigation on the track and 8mm of that in the past 24 hours. The last meeting here was on February 18 when it raced very well with the rail in the true position, the same spot it is today.
Race 4 (2.25pm) Matko Hire Maiden Plate
No.9 CRISTOFINA– Michael Poy (Barrier 5)
CRISTOFINA heads to Warrnambool today where she will contest a 1400m Maiden. She has drawn gate five and Michael Poy will ride.
CRISTOFINA should derive good benefit form her first up run at Terang where she was excellent. She got a fair way back and was held up at a crucial stage before hitting the line strongly in the 3rd best last 400/4th best last 200m split of the meeting. The step to 1400m here looks ideal and from a good gate she should be able to secure a reasonable run in transit. We had a minor setback galloping on the treadmill last week when she tied up, which means she hasn’t hadn’t a gallop since Terang so she will probably need the run today to derive further fitness.
It’s not an overly strong race and we will look to settle midfield, she will run a nice race and is a top four chance, with further benefit to come from today.
