Hanging Rock
Race 2 – Wannon Rebel
Jockey – Adam McCabe
2400m – Barrier 1
Improving galloper Wannon Rebel stays at 2400-metres when he heads to Hanging Rock this afternoon. The gelded son of Rebel Raider was good when breaking his maiden at Geelong two starts back, before a sound effort in this grade at Bendigo last time out. Jockey Adam McCabe has drawn the inside and will look to control proceedings from the front throughout.
Twotoodlou was outclassed when up in class at Cranbourne ten days ago, but was solid when just missing at Bendigo the start prior. He beat Wannon Rebel home by over three lengths on that occasion and must be considered a strong chance in this today. Rain Dance hit the line well on soft ground at Mount Gambier two starts back before failing at Benalla on a firm deck. Any give in the ground helps his chances. Expecting improvement from Vic Reel second-up from a spell.
Wannon Rebel is hard fit and will run a strong race from the front today. His attention will soon turn to the jumps season ahead, but for now, he has the opportunity to register another win before having a break. A winning hope in this.
