The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in HELEVA DEEL and VISTABELLE running at Pakenham.
Pakenham – All Weather Track
The Pakenham Synthetic generally races fairly well with those on speed likely to get their chance today with light winds forecast. Given even tempo, horses should be able to make ground.
Race 6 (3pm) 9 Mile Fresh F&M BM58 Handicap
No.3 HELEVA DEEL – Ben Allen (Barrier 3)
HELEVA DEEL heads to Pakenham today where she will contest a Fillies and Mares BM58. She has drawn gate three and Ben Allen will ride.
HELEVA DEEL was most impressive in winning at this track and trip last time out and the second horse – Jens – has since won at Geelong. She clearly has a liking for the synthetic tracks and it was a deserved win after bumping into two handy maidens this campaign. While the speed map isn’t ideal for a filly who will get back, she has the turn of foot to get herself out of trouble. She’s up in grade here but a Fillies and Mares BM58 is a fairly gentle step out of maiden grade and there’s no superstars in the opposition.
HELEVA DEEL looks the horse to beat with the only question mark being that she might be looking for the 2000 metres now, but with luck in running she can certainly make it two on the trot.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $3.20 (as at 8am)

Race 8 (4pm) Spendthrift Australia BM64 Handicap
No.12 VISTABELLE – Ben Allen (Barrier 1)
VISTABELLE also heads to Pakenham where she will contest a 1400m BM64. She has drawn gate two and Ben Allen will ride.
VISTABELLE worked really well to the line at Swan Hill, ripping home in the 2nd best last 600 and 400m splits of the meeting there, which is notable given there were two 975m races on the day. This mare’s best races of late have been in slower run affairs where she can use her strong turn of foot to get into the race late, and this doesn’t look like it will be run at a blistering tempo. She has stripped fitter for that outing and the step to 1400m here is advantageous.
From the barrier, she could look to even lead or box seat depending on the speed in the race. This mare also seems much more adept on top of the ground and her synthetic track record is strong. She certainly hasn’t gone backwards since Swan Hill, so she is going to be every chance in this race. Will be thereabouts at the finish, hopefully with her nose in front.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $6.50 (as at 8am)
