Sandown
Race 7 – Wuddzz
Jockey – Madison Lloyd
2100m – Barrier 13
Lightly-raced five-year-old Wuddzz is second-up and fitter at Sandown this afternoon, quickly stepping up to the 2100-metre trip. The gelded son of Complacent was sound fresh when he found 1400-metres far too short at Geelong a fortnight ago. Apprentice jockey Madison Lloyd will drift back from her wide draw and let the race unfold in front of her, stretching him out in the home straight and picking off a few runners on the way home. The main speed influences have drawn wide here in Kailash and Golden Crusader. They’ll need to work early to find their positions at the top and this could leave them vulnerable late. If they get an easy time in front, however, they’ll both prove hard to run down in these conditions. Fighting Arrow can take a sit just off the leaders and enjoy the run of the race. He’s right back in class and looks well placed here. Zoffala and Hanaady come through the same race on the Hillside circuit a month ago where they both ran well. They’re in with an each way chance. Chances don;t end there in a very open race. Wuddzz is building fitness for a target race at Warrnambool in three weeks and will improve on whatever he does today. He’s a chance to collect a cheque for connections but waiting for next start to back him.
Currently, Wuddzz is a $27 chance in the market.
