Henry Dwyer Racing – Monday preview

Morphettville

Race 2 – Prairie Flower

Jockey – Will Price

1200m – Barrier 4

Star Turn filly Prairie Flower travels over the border to take on benchmark-70 company at Morphettville on Adelaide Cup day. On the quick back-up from an average 1000-metre effort at Flemington, the Dwyer galloper will relish the extra furlong here at a track she has raced well at previously. Jockey Will Price has drawn well and can find a back to follow midfield, looking to peel out to have the last crack at them in the run home. The market has installed Klabel as favourite here, returning from a spell. This runner won on debut in July – beating home Attrition in the process – and was placed in the Rebel Raider last prep. He looked good winning a recent trial and will sit up on speed from a low draw. Killiako is another winning hope here. She was last seen running third in Listed grade at Caulfield in November and has won a trial in preparation for her return. Press Down has race fitness on his side and is racing well, but this is harder. Prairie Flower can win if she runs up to her best. The run two starts back at Ballarat is good enough to be in the finish here and she is rock-hard fit. A genuine top-three chance today.

Currently, Prairie Flower is a $9 chance in the market.
