The Dwyer camp are heading to Seymour for the first time in over two years for a maiden event on Thursday.
Seymour
Race 3 – Rock Dee Jay
Jockey – Blaike McDougall
1300m – Barrier 18
After a long hiatus, the Seymour Racing Club returns to racing and Dwyer’s seven-start maiden Rock Dee Jay looks a top chance to scratch a mark in the win column. The four-year-old son of Awesome Rock had limited luck at The Valley a fortnight ago after a sound run in Adelaide the start prior, and strikes a plainer race in the Goulburn Valley here today. Jockey Blaike McDougall jumps from the extreme outside but other market fancies have also drawn poorly which can allow the talented hoop to park his gelding in the three-wide line behind them and finish over the top. That said, Robert Hickmott’s You Betcha Woo has drawn inside and looks a live chance in this race, admittedly off a couple of uninspiring trials.
From the trainer:
We want to be positive on him.
This is a good opportunity for him to win his maiden.
Currently, Rock Dee Jay is a $3.40 chance in the market.
