Henry Dwyer Racing – Friday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today in STRATESSA running at Geelong.

Geelong – Soft (7)

The track is rated a Soft 7 and the rail is out in the 8m position from the 1700-800m marks and 11m the remainder. This track has had considerable wear and tear of late and they most likely will use the middle-to-outside section of the surface throughout the day.

Race 5 (2.30pm) Zurich Insurance BM58 Handicap

No.9 STRATESSA – Ben Allen (Barrier 3)

STRATESSA heads to Geelong today where she will contest a 1447m BM58. She draws gate three and Ben Allen will ride.

STRATESSA didn’t see out the mile last time out at Sandown so the drop back in trip today is ideal. She has a nice turn of foot and prefers wet conditions, so the surface today will only suit her. They shouldn’t go overly hard in this which will help her pattern, similar to the race she contested two back at Ballarat where she was able to use her turn of foot to come home and finish second. We have been waiting for a wet track for her and she gets that today (wetter the better if the rain keeps coming), it’s a suitable race for her and on recent form, this is a very winnable race for STRATESSA.
