The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today in GAIUS at Flemington
Flemington – Good(4)
Come 4.30pm you’d think Flemington will be a Good 3 with fine, warm weather forecast. The wind is forecast to turn southeasterly during the afternoon which blows across from inside rail to outside rail with a little bit of assistance – meaning they should run fast time. The straight track has been racing well of late so I wouldn’t expect there to be a pattern.
Race 4 (4:30 pm) Yum Sing House Sprint 1000m
No.2 GAUIS– Damian Lane (Barrier 11)
GAIUS (11) heads to Flemington on Friday where he will contest a 1000m Class 1 down the straight (Race 4, 4.30pm). He has drawn gate eleven and Damian Lane takes the ride.
This is the Rapid Racing meeting where country and city jockeys will do battle so Gaius landing Damian Lane could only be seen as a plus. GAIUS jumped-out nicely before having absolutely no luck at Mornington first up where he probably goes close to winning with even luck. This is probably a touch stronger but I really liked his return to the track and he’s clearly a galloper with some upside.
