Progressive galloper Brungle Raider made it two wins from two starts this preparation with a barnstorming finish at Warrnambool on Sunday. Proving his first-up romp at Swan Hill was no fluke, the five-year-old son of Rebel Raider powered over the top of his rivals to snatch the 1700-metre event under jockey Neil Farley. The Irishman has ridden the gelding at both of his wins this time in, Sunday’s run timed to perfection, hooking wide in the home straight and winding up from a midfield position to arrive a stride before the line. The five-year-old gelding won’t be rushed to his next start, which may be a midweek metropolitan race should conditions suit.
