The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner tonight in HEAVENLY BRIDGES running at The Valley in Race 5.
The Valley – Good (4)
The track at The Valley has come up a Good 4 on race morning, but with a very hot weather forecast it will rapidly get up to a Good 3 throughout the afternoon and evening. The track itself has been racing terrifically well this season with very little bias evident.
Race 5 (8:15 pm) Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Heat 9
No.1 HEAVENLY BRIDGES – Laura Lafferty(a3) (Barrier 9)
HEAVENLY BRIDGES (9) heads to The Valley on Friday night, where she will contest a 955m Heat of the 55 Second Challenge (Race 5, 8.15 pm). She has drawn gate nine, and Laura Lafferty will ride claiming 3kg.
HEAVENLY BRIDGES drops back to BM64 grade, having done all her recent racing in BM70 company and stronger. The last time she came to a 955m BM64 here at The Valley she was a dominant, on-speed winner back in January. She has had two jump-outs leading, and in each heat she ran into a pretty smart galloper when running second, including Preseids, who was so impressive in winning at Bendigo on Sunday. I thought her jump-outs were more than adequate and there’s every reason to think she’s here to run a big race tonight. Laura Lafferty has historically been a pretty good rider of frontrunners and her 3kg claim is invaluable here.
In saying that, she looks to be the only genuine speed in the race as a natural leader. This hopefully will allow her to lead from barrier 9 or sit close to the leaders. There are a lot of positives about her tonight coming into the run; Laura knows her well, happy with her work at home and stable is full of confidence in her best being able to challenge tonight.
